Cots, high chairs  and stairgates are available, as detailed in the cottage information.  However, we do not provide linen or bedding for cots. If you have any specific requirements for children, just let us know when you book and we will try to help.

What is there to do?

As we live and work in Wales, we know the local areas really well and are happy to act as your ‘tour guide,’ with information on local attractions and events. Each property has detailed information on the website, about shops, restaurants, beaches and local attractions.

If being active is for you, the Coastal Path offers 870 miles of  walks with stunning views.  The National Parks and areas of outstanding national beauty provide fantastic scenery with amazing waterfalls.   With so many outdoor activities from watersports to cycling, mountain biking to golf, there is lots to do.  Award winning attractions such as the longest Zip Wire in Europe, Folly Farm and Dan yr Ogof caves provide a great day out.  You might like to watch the sunset over Cardigan Bay and spot dolphins. If you just want to chill out, then grab a coffee and a good book - simply heavenly!

Our property owners are a wealth of information, as well as the local tourist guides, which are available on line. For additional recommendations, look out for the testimonials from our guests on each property. You may want to plan ahead or let each day unfold, the choice is yours.

Your Holiday

Before your holiday, we will provide directions, a map and contact details for the property owner.  It is important the you bring the directions with you as you cannot rely totally on Sat Nav, in some of the more rural areas.

We also supply suggestions of things to do within the property pages of our website and information about the area to help you gain the most from your holiday, as well as a few useful Welsh phrases for you to try.

Arrival and Departure

Arrival and departure times may vary between properties, but can be found on the property detail pages on our website. After you place a booking, they will also be confirmed in your booking details. Please leave the property as you found it.

Food and Drink

Wales offers a great range of local produce from meats and cheese to bread, jam, wine and beer.  There are several major Food Festivals throughout the year in Wales -  they provide an opportunity  to sample local award winning specialities.  There are lots of restaurants from fabulous fish and chips, cosy coffee shops,  gastro pubs and for that special occasion the Michelin starred restaurants.  There is something for all tastes, occasions  and budgets. There is also a range of local shops and supermarkets and many will deliver your online shopping to the property.

Pets

We accept pets in many of our properties and they can be found via the pet friendly search.

Special Requests

We can help with surprises, for birthdays, anniversaries, proposals etc. and we will keep it secret from the lucky recipient. We can help with flowers, champagne, cards with a special message or anything else that you have in mind, to create a memory to treasure.

Just let us know and we will try to make your holiday that little bit extra special.

Disabled access

The specific Disabled Friendly properties are designed to help our disabled guests enjoy their holiday. We also offer properties with ground floor bath/shower and bed, for easy access.

Phone and WiFi

You should be aware that it might be difficult to receive a good mobile signal in some parts of rural Wales. Some mobile networks receive stronger signals than others.  Many properties provide Wifi but it may not be as fast in the countryside, as in major cities.  You can check the available networks and signal here.

Problems

If there are any issues during the holiday, the first step is to contact the property owner and then Best of Wales, if we can be of further help.

Your Safety

There may be less street lighting as areas of Wales have been awarded the special Dark Sky status. That means you can see the stars more clearly, but bring a torch just in case. Take care to follow instructions for operating electrical appliances, if they are different from the ones you use daily.

Hot tubs

Follow the guidelines for using a hot tub, shower before use, avoid taking drinking glasses into the tub and check if you are allergic to chemicals.

Your Personal Property

While you are staying in your holiday cottage, please remember to secure your possessions such as laptops, bikes and watersport equipment, by locking the property as usual.

Environment

Please consider the environmental impact and turn off all lights etc when leaving the property. The property owner will advise on the recycling processes for each cottage.
