Cottage Information

Dogs & Other Pets

Dogs are welcome at many of our holiday homes as indicated in the property descriptions. The paw print icon for each dog friendly property will show how many dogs will be accepted, but do ask if you are interested in a particular property – owners may accept more dogs if they are only small, for example. Please ensure that your dog is kept under firm control at all times, is not allowed in bedrooms or on any of the furniture and is not left alone in the property. "No Dogs" does not exclude guide or hearing dogs.

N.B. If you are bringing your dog on holiday with you, please notify us at the time of booking. The owner reserves the right to refuse entry to your dog(s) unless previously notified.

Other pet(s) may be accepted at some properties that accept dogs; do check with us.

Televisions and DVD players

Details regarding Freeview, Sky, DVD players and other services are detailed for each property, where known. There is no minimum size requirement for TVs in holiday properties and TVs may not be flatscreen or HD ready.

WiFi and Mobile

Whilst many properties supply WiFi for customers’ use, please be aware that internet access and speed in some cases may be intermittent given the nature of our lovely hills and mountains! This applies to mobile reception too.

Kitchens

Kitchens come equipped with a cooker (or hob and oven) a microwave and a fridge, together with enough cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils for the number of people the property sleeps. If the property is shown as having a Rayburn, Aga or similar, there is also an electric or gas cooker. Many properties have freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers, and these will be listed in the description for each property.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms have a bath, washbasin and toilet. Shower rooms have shower, washbasin and toilet. A bath/shower room will have both bath and shower – but may be a shower cubicle or a shower over the bath. Additional toilets and other facilities are all as detailed in each property description.

Parking & Location

There will be room to park your car adjacent or very close to the property, unless we mention any parking restrictions or issues in the description. All distances given in the brochure are approximate. Ordnance Survey references are available for all properties if required.

Cots

Where a cot is available, it may be a traditional frame cot or a travel cot – check with us, if you wish to confirm which type of cot is provided. In all cases, you need to bring any cot bedding and towels required for your baby. A highchair and stairgate(s) can often be provided; once again, please do check with us. Please request any of these requirements at the time of booking, as they are not always left in the property.

Cleaning

All properties are cleaned and serviced between bookings but, as the cleaner's time is often limited between bookings, we ask you to leave the property as clean and tidy as you found it.

Accessibility Requirements

Some visitors have special requirements regarding access to a property or facilities needed within it. If you have particular access requirements, please do contact us for advice about the suitability of your chosen cottage(s).

Period Properties

Many of the properties within this brochure are older cottages dating back before the 19th century. It is important to remember before booking your holiday that part of the charm of such properties is the characteristically low ceilings, doorways and beams. They often have steep and narrow stairs and because of low or sloping ceilings, may have limited headroom and clothes hanging facilities. Many were also built before the introduction of damp proof courses and cavity insulation. These points are particularly important to note if your party has any elderly or very young members. Beams can attract spiders, and cobwebs reappear very quickly after being removed. We feel that these are aspects of the properties which add character and charm and would not hesitate to recommend them to you given that the aforementioned features are understood and accepted.
