Lleoliad

Llys Mawr enjoys a tranquil, rural setting with panoramic views from mountain to sea. As one of two semi-detached, spacious holiday cottages on site, the cottage provides a true 'get-away' from the hustle and bustle of every day life, yet within 3 miles of Pwllheli, 7 miles of Cricieth and 9 miles to Abersoch. The nearest beach and access to the Wales Coast Path can both be found at Abererch, 2.4 miles away. The beautiful valleys and majestic mountains of Snowdonia National Park are also within easy reach. This is a central location to make the most North Wales' diverse landscape and great range of attractions.

The cottage is surrounded by expansive farmland on the edge of Y Ffôr village, within walking distance of a cafe and Tyddyn Sachau garden centre and within a mile of the village shop. A wide range of amenities are available at the seaside town of Pwllheli (3 miles), including Asda, a range of small independent shops and a range of cafes and restaurants. There is also a farm shop 2.5 miles away at Glasfryn Parc activity centre, where you can also enjoy a family day out with activities such as go-karting, segways, wakeboarding and ten pin bowling.

There are plenty of options if you wish to eat out, from Taro Deg and Whitehall in Pwllheli to Tremfan Hall in Llanbedrog (6.5 miles), Dylans in Cricieth (7.8 miles) and Porth Tocyn Hotel near Abersoch (11.5 miles). Whitehall is a good base to taste local ales, whilst Cwrw Llŷn brewery in Nefyn (8 miles) has a lovely bar where you can try their ales and lager. For a relaxing drink on the beach, visit Ty Coch in Porthdinllaen, (8.5 miles), voted the third best beach bar in the world and accessed on foot via the golf course or along the beach.

The seaside town of Pwllheli features two beaches and an impressive Marina that hosts many watersports events and competitions throughout the year. Considered to be the 'unofficial' capital of the Llyn Peninsula (a designated area of outstanding natural beauty), Pwllheli is a gateway to endless beaches, seaside resorts and picturesque villages. A short journey east brings you to Snowdonia National Park with its castles and steam trains, numerous mountains including Snowdon (the highest), Zip World, Portmeirion and so much more.

When on Llyn, other highly recommended items for your bucket list include a boat trip to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), a walk up Tre Ceiri mountain and a trip to Nant Gwrtheyrn. The Welsh language and culture also flourishes in the area and greetings such as 'bore da' (good morning) and 'diolch' (thanks) will often come in handy. The Welsh language is one of the oldest living languages in Europe and adds to the true sense of place that visitors can enjoy during their stay.
