Mae'r bwthyn 5 seren trawiadol hwn ym Mannau Brycheiniog wedi ei leoli ym mhentref bychan Trecastell, gyda tafarn leol wych ar stepen y drws a nifer o siopau hynafolion. Mae'r ardal yn ddelfrydol ar gyfer cerdded, beicio, rhaeadrau, pysgota, gwylio'r sêr a llawer mwy. Mae yna lwybrau yn arwain allan o'r pentref, gyda 'Bike Park Wales', sy'n un o'r llefydd beicio mynydd gorau yn Ewrop, ond 25 munud i ffwrdd yn y car. Lleoliad

This cottage is a mid link property just off the main road in the small village of Trecastle, with a great local pub The Castle Coaching Inn just a few doors away. The Village is a small hamlet and includes two antique shops. From here you can explore all the Brecon Beacons has to offer. The village owes its name to the 11th century castle and the remains can still be seen as you enter the town on the Brecon Road.

Brecon is a country market town and is only 10 miles away. It includes a cattle market, food market and some great shops selling local produce. The boathouse on the River Usk is a popular location for hiring motor boats and rowing boats. It is also the starting point of the Taff Trail, a 56 mile cycle path that leads all the way down to Cardiff. There are many restaurants and places to eat out in the area including the popular Old Yew Tree and Welsh Rarebit Centre  in Defynnog.

The Brecon Beacons National Park was the first in the UK to achieve Geopark status as part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. It is also an official Dark Sky reserve, and on a clear night, you will be amazed at the wonder of night sky, thanks to almost zero light pollution. Attractions in the area including the spectacular Ystradfellte Waterfalls, the Brecon Mountain Railway and Dan yr Ogof Caves. Pen-y-fan is the highest mountain in the park and a popular walk.

Cardiff is around 44 miles away and a very popular destination. From sporting events at the stadium to the great shopping, it has something for everyone. Swansea is around 30 miles away making Mumbles and the gorgeous Gower coastline accessible and perfect for a day out.

 

Walks

The Beacons National Park is full of great walks and trails. From the village you can walk along the old roman path to Llandovery. 8 miles.

Fishing

Permit can be bought locally for salmon and trout on the River Usk. 0.5 miles.

Cycling

Superb road cycling along many quiets country lanes. 0.1 miles.

The spectacular Bike Park Wales is only 25 minutes away. 20 miles.


Pony Trekking

Gilfach Equitation offers trekking, mountain riding, riding lessons, and riding courses. 3.2 miles.

Golf

Brecon Golf Club includes great views across Pen-y-fan. 8 miles.

Water sports

Water sport enthusiasts are well catered for with the River Usk providing white water canoeing. 3.0 miles, and Llangorse Lake. 16 miles.
