Location
This detached Coach House is located in the small hamlet of Synod Inn and is some 4 miles outside New Quay.
New Quay is a small coastal village with plenty of local pubs and restaurants and 2 great sandy beaches. New Quay is famous for its dolphin watching trips that can be booked from the harbour. There are many great beaches in the area including Tresaith , Penbryn and Cwmtydu. The Georgian town of Aberaeron is only 8.5 miles away and is another coastal gem with many unique shops and places to eat and drink. In addition to the great beach at Llangrannog, the Urdd Camp is also open to the public providing access to its great range of facilities including ski and boarding slope, climbing centre, equine centre, quad biking and many more. This is all only 7 miles from the cottage and is a great all-weather attraction.
Cardigan is a market town on the banks of the river Teifi (a famous salmon river) and was once a key trading port with a huge herring fishing fleet. The river meets the sea at Poppit Sands and this is a great spot for dolphin watching from the shore. Cardigan has plenty of places to eat out and plenty of local, boutique shops. 14 miles inland is Cenarth - a gorgeous little village with the famous Cenarth falls. Local fisherman used traditional coracle boats to fish on the river. You can see these in the museum here and even have a go yourself on the river.
Family attractions in Cardigan include the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park. There are many land animals on show but also you can see much of the coastal wildlife, including the harbour porpoises, seals, and dolphins. There is also an indoor section with activities for all the family. Dyfed Shire-horse Farm is a great outdoor and indoor activity centre and is only 6 miles away. Slightly further away, there are other great family attractions including Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park, both around an hour away.
