Location

This detached bungalow is within walking distance of the village pub and grocery store in the little village of Maenygroes, one mile from the picturesque seaside town of New Quay on the West Wales coastline. Its golden sandy beaches and sheltered harbour makes New Quay a delight to visit at any time of year. New Quay remains one of the favourite holiday destinations of thousands of people from Wales each year. For many families, taking holidays at New Quay is a tradition stretching back for generations. The cottage is also only four miles from the National Trust cove at Cwmtydu.

Cardigan Bay, which is dotted with pretty little resorts and stretches of spectacular Heritage Coastland, is home to bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and seals. The Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron lies 9 miles north of this West Wales holiday cottage. This architectural gem is full of interest. There's a Sea Aquarium, the famous Harbourmaster Restaurant and the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate. Travel inland from Aberaeron to the Teifi Valley. A favourite with visitors is Cenarth Falls, a famous beauty spot.

From Aberystwyth travel on the narrow-gauge Vale of Rheidol Railway to experience the waterfalls at Devil's Bridge or visit the ruins at Strata Florida Abbey, near Pontrhydfendigaid in the Cambrian mountains. This West Wales holiday cottage is central for touring Wales and ideal for pursuits such as angling, sailing, birdwatching, cycling and walking.

Beaches

New Quay Beach expansive, sandy and well protected from the breeze, this blue flag beach (Harbour Beach) is very popular during the summer months. 1 mile

Cei Bach lovely beach, much quieter than New Quay beach. 2 miles

Water Sports

You can choose from dinghy sailing, yacht cruising, power boating, windsurfing and kayaking with both short sessions and longer courses suitable for all levels and abilities Cardigan Bay Watersports 1 mile

Tresaith is set in a small sheltered sandy bay named after the River Saith which cascades as a waterfall over the cliffs to the beach. The beach has a slipway and is a popular sailing destination. An excellent beach for watersports - wide and sandy, but limited parking. 13 miles

Walking

The Ceredigion Coast Path links together a treasury of environmental, natural and heritage assets within one of the most scenic coastal areas of Wales: 1 mile

Fishing

There is superb fishing all around the New Quay Area:

Sea Fishing - The harbour wall remains a popular venue for children. The area is also renowned as a UK bass hotspot. Boats available from the New Quay harbour, bookings taken on the quay. 1 mile

Coarse fishing -many lakes and river including Llanarth Coarse Fishery. 3 miles

Golf

Cardigan Golf Club is a fine championship course measuring 6687 yards, Par 72, SSS 73. 22 miles

Cycling

The 34km (21 mile) Ystwyth Trail connects Aberystwyth, on the shore of Ceredigion's Bay, with Tregaron in the northern Teifi Valley. 18 miles

Pony Trekking

Horse riding is available in a few locations including Gilfach yr Halen Llwyncelyn. 4.8 miles
