Location

Llety'r Wennol is located in beautiful, open, rolling country at the southern edge of the Cambrian Mountain range on the outskirts of the village of Ffarmers, nestled in between the market towns of Lampeter, Llandovery and Llandeilo in West Wales. There are lush green valleys, mountain wilderness, stunning lakes, beautiful gardens and fantastic food available at farmers markets in Carmarthen, Llanelli and Llandovery.

 

This renovated cottage is situated on a working farm with cattle, sheep and horses. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is ideal for bird watching (with the Red Kite Feeding Centre within 20 miles a major attraction); walking and trekking. Old drovers' roads invite you to explore on foot or by car whilst fishing, pony trekking and golf are also available nearby. Llety'r Wennol is within a short drive to Aberglasney Gardens and the National Botanic Garden of Wales, making it an ideal spot for those keen gardeners.

 

It is also within easy reach of Cardigan Bay and the Brecon Beacons National Park (including the Carmarthenshire Fans and Llyn y Fan Fach), while the Pembrokeshire Coast and Gower Peninsula are also popular areas for visitors to West Wales. It is an area of considerable historic interest with Dolaucothi Gold Mines just 3 miles away, as well as castles, churches and numerous other historic buildings and places of interest to visit, several of which are National Trust properties within a short distance.

 

 


Water Sports – The Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club offers white water rafting, canoes and kayaks for some spectacular scenery along the Teifi for the water sports enthusiasts. 21.6 miles

Walking – Many local walks from the door step to suit all levels and abilities. Local walking club and many local trails and paths. Guided Walks available. Drover walks 3.0 miles.

Fishing – Afon Cothi (a tributary of the majestic River Towy, famed for its Salmon run) is nearby, with permits available from local clubs. 2.8 miles.

Troed y Bryn fishery Trout and coarse pools. 15.2 miles

Sea fishing – Cardigan Bay is renowned for its bass and black bream and boats may be chartered from several of Ceredigion’s small ports. Ceredigion Coast 28.5 miles

 

 


Golf – Cilgwyn Golf Club is located in a secluded valley and is very picturesque. It's a flat parkland layout but the trees, ponds and streams give you plenty to think about as you try and plot your way around the course 13.5 miles.

Cycling - Cycling heaven, passing through quiet country roads and trails 0.2 miles. Natural Resources Wales site Cwm Rhaeadr with its mountain bike trail 11.5 miles

Pony trekking – Caeiago Riding Centre is located on the edge of the beautiful Cambrian Mountains in the heart of rural Wales, ensuring spectacular riding country and varied wildlife. 1.2 miles
