Location

Llys Bach is one of two beautiful, semi-detached holiday cottages on site, surrounded by green fields and with far-reaching views of the mountains and sea. Offering a private, peaceful setting away from the world, it is conveniently close to Pwllheli (3 miles), 7 miles to Cricieth and 9 miles to Abersoch. A 10 mile drive also brings you to Snowdonia National Park with its stunning valleys, majestic mountains and endless attractions. In summary, Llys Bach is central to mountain and sea and provides a great base to discover North Wales at its best.

Located just outside the village of Y Ffôr, you will benefit from having a cafe within walking distance at Tyddyn Sachau garden centre and a village shop less than a mile away. A farm shop can be found at Glasfryn Parc activity centre (2.5 miles) where you can also enjoy a family day out with activities such as go-karting, segways, wakeboarding and ten pin bowling. The seaside town of Pwllheli offers a wide range of amenities, including a large Asda, a range of small independent shops and a good selection of cafes and restaurants.

Some of the best places to eat locally include Taro Deg and Whitehall in Pwllheli, Tremfan Hall in Llanbedrog (6.5 miles), Dylans in Cricieth (7.8 miles) and Porth Tocyn Hotel near Abersoch (11.5 miles). For a taste of local ales, Whitehall offers a good range whilst Cwrw Llŷn brewery in Nefyn (8 miles) has a lovely bar where you can try their ales and lager. For a relaxing drink on the beach, visit Ty Coch in Porthdinllaen, (8.5 miles), voted the third best beach bar in the world and accessed on foot via the golf course or along the beach.

Home to two beaches and an impressive Marina where many watersports events and competitions are held throughout the year, Pwllheli is considered to be the 'unofficial' capital of the Llyn Peninsula, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The Welsh language and culture still flourishes in the area, providing that extra special dimension for a true sense of place that visitors can enjoy and engage with, even if it's just to try the occasional 'bore da' (good morning) or 'diolch' (thanks).

A 'must do' when on Llyn is a visit by boat to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), whilst the picturesque seaside villages that are dotted around the Peninsula are well worth discovering. There is so much to see and do, including a walk along the Wales Coast Path (details below) or up Tre Ceiri mountain, a trip to Nant Gwrtheyrn (7 miles), Zip World and Bounce Below. Not to mention Cricieth and Caernarfon castles, the Italian village of Portmeirion, a steam train ride on the Welsh Highlands Railway and so much more.
